“In Deep Water”
Created for Harbourfront Centre’s Junior International Festival, May 18-20, 2019.
I spent a few months collecting plastics from the garbage, most of which are either not recyclable or were being sent to the landfill inappropriately. This pile is seeming to attack the canoe, dragging it under the water of Toronto’s harbour.

There is so much plastic in the water in the form of micro plastic particles, this installation imagines what it would be like if we could see it all in a larger, recognizable form. And to rethink all of these non-recyclable plastics that will be in landfill for centuries at least.
